WORKSHOPS

  • Maleny Pilates workshop on the dynamic pelvic floor. Discover exercises to strengthen and relax your pelvic floor musculature.

    DYNAMIC PELVIC FLOOR

    Run by our professional Pilates Instructor from Maleny Pilates (formerly Pilates Platform) and inspired by the works of Eric Franklin, this workshop is suitable for men and women of all ages. You will experience pelvic floor awareness, relaxation and strengthening exercises that you can continue at home and practice regularly. You will also have access to an online recording of every day pelvic floor health tips by PF physiotherapist Robin Kerr, AKA The Pelvic Guru.

    In this workshop you will; move beyond kegel exercises; explore the structure of the pelvic floor musculature; learn how to stretch and release the muscles and move the bones surrounding the pelvic floor; enhance your awareness of pelvic floor connection through Pilates and every day movements and breath; understand the importance of relaxing the pelvic floor to help with related ailments.

  • Maleny Pilates workshop on healthy bones. Learn about osteoporosis safe exercise and how to keep your bones strong.

    HEALTHY BONES

    Worried about the future health of your bones? This workshop will take you through a series of fun and challenging exercises designed to build bone strength and maintain it.

    Nutrition and movement education are key to healthy bones and we will cover all of this and more, followed by sharing a delicious morning tea of bone density building foods at the end.

    All exercises will be provided to take home so you can continue your practice.

  • Maleny pilates workshop on using the fit ball at home. Learn a series of exercises to help strengthen and stretch your whole body.

    FIT BALL FUN

    Got a fit ball in your office? Want to use it for more than just a seat? Keen to learn some great balance and strength exercises you can easily do at home?

    Join us for a rolling good time! Fit balls are available pumped and ready to use if you need and can be taken home after the workshop!

    In this workshop you will learn a series of Pilates exercises that use the Fit Ball. Session One covers beginner Fit Ball exercises and Session Two will take you through a series of Intermediate and Advanced moves. Both sessions are suitable for all fitness levels, but confidence sitting on a Fit Ball and controlling your balance on the ball is a must. You can choose to attend one or both sessions. All exercises will be provided in a handout for you to continue your practice at home.

    PILATES ESSENTIALS

    New to Pilates? Or just wanting to brush up on the basics? Our Pilates Essentials Workshop is great for anyone interested in learning about the Pilates Method.

    Contemporary Mat Pilates incorporates a strong foundation of physiology with safe and effective movement practice, used to strengthen the body, improve agility and flexibility and support healthy aging. In our modern world, healthy movement practice has become more important than ever.

    In this workshop you will cover all of the essentials of Mat Pilates. From the importance of breathing to pelvic floor awareness. Your body alignment, muscle connections and core control will be challenged and improved through this series of exercises. And best of all, you will be able to take this knowledge into any Pilates class and feel confident and in control. Join us and discover the amazing effects of Pilates on your whole body health.
